2022 and 2023 Expanded Triage Investigation

In August 2021, the current property owner agreed to allow EGLE-RRD to conduct a limited subsurface investigation utilizing state funds. This program is known as the leaking underground storage tank state-wide expanded triage. The intent of the program is to gather current environmental data in a short period of time at properties where little subsurface information is known, or environmental cleanup work is inactive. Many of these locations are known as “orphan sites” as no liable party exists or the owner cannot financially be able to perform corrective actions to address contamination.

On August 12, 2022, EGLE contractor, ERG, conducted a geophysical survey of the Site using ground penetrating radar (GPR). The geophysical survey identified utilities and a large area of disturbed, potentially excavated soil, but did not identify any anomalies consistent with the presence of USTs or former UST cavities
