The Ludington Area Schools enroll 2,200 students across three buildings and include several pre-school options for young children. The district has an annual operating budget of just over 24 million dollars. Buildings in the district are in need of repairs, new boilers, improved technology and improved infrastructure. The voters in the Ludington Area school district passed a 210 million dollar bond to allow for construction of a new elementary school, dramatic renovation of existing school buildings, creation of secure building entrances, flexible furniture to inspire 21st century learning, enhanced career technical learning to focus on skilled trades,and replacement of aging infrastructure (boilers, roofs, mechanical systems, etc.)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The district and construction manager needed a qualified consultant to provide high value services in a timely fashion. The consultant needed to demonstrate successful past performance in the areas of asbestos testing, consulting, and hazardous materials evaluation. ERG fit that bill perfectly and to make the introduction even more seamless, ERG has years of experience with the district’s architect and construction manager.

ERG competitively bid this work and was identified as the responsible bidder, winning the environmental consulting contract for the 5 year life of the bond fund project.
