Oak Shores Campground

This family-owned, full-service campground includes a restaurant, camp store, swimming pool, and bathroom facilities. The campground has grown in phases over the last 40 years. ERG was hired to evaluate the existing wastewater treatment system (WWTS) and provide consulting services for the facility to be in compliance with the General Discharge Permit.

With the facility expansions occurred over the years in phases, the WWTS has been expanded to adequately treat the wastewater. Therefore, instead of one centralized WWTS, each phase of the facility expansion has its own septic tanks and drain field such that they now operate five septic systems at one campground. 

ERG evaluated each WWTS and assisted the facility to be in compliance with the discharge permit. In addition, ERG provides quarterly site inspections at each individual WWTS to ensure proper operations and maintenance. The other services provided so far includes completing the general permit renewal application, evaluation of wastewater flow rates, compliance reporting, preparation of an Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM), confirmation of the design capacity of each WWTS for handling expected peak flow.
