Gus George is a Senior Environmental Engineer for ERG, rejoining the firm in 2020 after a brief hiatus. He has over 30 years of experience dealing with various environmental issues throughout Michigan, the Midwest and Northeast United States. Gus is an experienced environmental manager with a well-diversified background in hazardous waste treatment, permitting, remediation, underground storage tank management, closure assessments, RCRA closure plans preparation and implementation, field operations (including construction), Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and Baseline Environmental Assessments and audits, land reclamation, sludge management and asbestos surveys Gus also worked internationally with the British Petroleum (BP), leadership team from 2009 through 2014 on developing integrating strategies between Iraq’s Southern Oil Company (SOC), Petro China staff and BP. He also conducted risk management training for over 120 engineers and technicians in Scotland and was advisor for BP on the North Oil Company to redevelop a portion of the Kirkuk Oil Field.
Gus has been happily married for 39 years, and has raised and educated two daughters.
